Oh, the things that give this mom life…
It’s Sunday and my husband has been out of town since Wednesday. The girls and I have had events, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
Today was hair washing day for my girls as well, and my three-year-old was very vocal with letting me know she did not want to wash her hair. She thought it was funny to keep running away when I tried to dry and style her hair.
It’s funny looking back after the fact, but, it surely was not when this little girl was running around the house screaming as though I was a stranger.
I feel beaten up and just want to lay down and watch TV or finish the book I have been reading for weeks with a glass of red wine!
However, the Fairy God Mothers are not coming to clean the kitchen, work on my blog or wash MY hair.
Yes, as moms we do that – leave ourselves for last or not at all. My hair can wait!
I start thinking about my blog and get excited.
I decide to put on the TV show, The Voice while I clean up the kitchen and prepare for the week.
It’s the first blind auditions of session 14.
The first artist, Britton Buchanan sings “Trouble” and “Gives me Life”! I love music and The Voice!
Listen and see Britton’s Blind Audition here.
Hearing the music and soul that Britton brought to that song Gave Me Life and Energized me.
I am inspired to write and stop cleaning the kitchen.
All mothers need an outlet or activity that they can rely on to help them Recharge and Energize.
Sometimes, its simply rest and sleep that we must take.
What small thing/s Gives You Life, Gives you Energy, Makes you Excited and Warms your Heart with Joy? Even when you feel Dead Tired?
As mothers, we give so much of ourselves. At the end of our days when our family is gone to bed, we must continue with our work to clean up and prepare to do it all over again the next day.
When we leave our office at the end of the workday, we must dig deep to find the energy for our primary job as mothers, caregivers, wives, counselors, nurturers, playmates, chef and whatever role our family needs us to be.
It is the most challenging and rewarding job at the same time.
I Googled “Gives me life” and came across this bible verse, “Job 33:4
“The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
Revitalizes me, gives me energy, pumps me up”.
What we receive from The Spirit of God is incomparable, yes, but you get where I am coming from…
I needed something to help energize me to attack all I had to do in my tired state, and I turned on The Voice.
The concept of the blind auditions for this show is great. The coaches must listen to contestants’ Voice without seeing them and decide if they want the contestant on their team by turning their chairs.
I love the support and encouragement the coaches give the contestants, the relationship among the coaches and the talent and passion of the contestants.
Other guilty pleasures I know I can depend on to help lift me up when I am dog tired include:
- The TV show, So You Think You Can Dance.
Oh, I feel I can dance, however, my family thinks otherwise. - Another TV Show is This is Us.
Although sometimes it slows me down when it pulls me in and makes me cry. - Most TV shows that include’s dancing and singing are my go too when I am seeking some inspiration to overcome my fatigue – My Guilty Pleasure …
Thank goodness for replays as I hardly watch live TV anymore. - I recently discovered Podcasts. These have been very inspirational.
I don’t know if this one is a guilty pleasure, however, listening to Podcasts while I work around the house is one of my new joys.
All Humans have days where we feel like we have nothing left to give, however, we must dig deep within ourselves to RISE-up and do life.
Music is my go-to energy boost. Whether it’s listening to people sing on a TV Show or one of the many mediums we can listen to music today.
Please share some of the things that “Gives You life”, when you are tired as a dog or just need a life-line.
I hope this blog will form a community of Humans Supporting and Empowering each other, especially mothers.
And be a place where you know you can visit and get that “Life-Line” you may need.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to your comments.
