Find Your Rhythm and Become a Rockstar Career Mom
Are you feeling frustrated like you will never be able to have a career and be a great mother?
You’re trying to “balance” being a mom and having a career.
But you never feel like you’re juggling both well.
You want to feel fulfilled and happy as a Working Career Mom.
And all you feel is hopeless like it’s not possible to be happy as a Career Mom.
This was me for years.
And the crazy thing is – I didn’t even realize this was the cause of my discontent.
Blamed External Factors
I looked at all the external things around me that “wasn’t right”.
For instance, my job and industry. I thought if I changed them all would be right.
I changed my job and industry. Things were better for a few weeks but then got worst.
I struggled more and became confused and frustrated.
Changing my work situation helped for a few weeks, however, I hadn’t discovered the root cause of my frustrations.
I needed to work on myself.
Faith Stepped in and Took Me Out of the Situation
My husband got an amazing job opportunity, which he wasn’t even looking for.
We relocated for his new job.
This allowed me to take a break from my career.
Focus on my family. And figure out what the heck I wanted to do with my career.
That was almost two years ago.
I went from living and working in the D.C. Metro area, our nation’s Capital. To live in the suburbs of the Midwest!
The Begining of my Awakening and Self-discovery
I went from crazy busy Working Career Mom in the City to Stay at Home Mom in the Suburbs. I lasted two weeks until I had an epiphany that this wasn’t me.
My husband and my daughters are my heart.
But, there was something inside of me that was aching to get out.
I felt a pull to give and serve.
I had to figure out how I would be able to do both. Have a Career and Be a Great Mom.
I have been on a journey of self-discovery and development as I work towards being the best ME. For myself, my husband, daughters, family, friends, and community.
You Can Have a Career and Be a Great Mom
You have more authority and power to create this dream than you may realize.
#1. Take a Step Back and Discover Yourself
Walking away from my career that I worked so hard to build was scary.
My job and titles were a tremendous part of my identity and security.
I realized I was still chasing the dreams of that recent college graduate, who was so eager to achieve career success.
I was checking all the boxes to keep climbing the corporate ladder. And everything that came with each step I climbed.
No longer was I that person. No longer just a Career Woman.
I am a Career Mom.
My goals, dreams, interests, skills, and values changed.
Why take a step back and discover yourself?
Our goals, dreams, interests, skills, and values evolve as the seasons of our lives change.
Life moves fast. And we all are moving fast to keep up and get ahead.
We get caught up on chasing success and end up going through the motions each day.
We often forget to slow down and assess where we are and where we’re going.
Before I had my daughters I worked more than 60 hours a week with no qualms.
After, having children I couldn’t afford to and didn’t want to put in those hours anymore.
I had two babies and a husband that needed me. And I was only seeing them for a few hours each day.
The miracle that changed my life.
You see, I was told I couldn’t have children without getting medical assistance.
For almost two years I tried and prayed for a baby.
I just wanted a healthy baby that was apart of me and my husband.
I was blessed with two amazing daughters.
I had to do my very best to make sure I take care of them!

Taking a Step Back Empowered Me!
When I started working on discovering who I am and who I wanted to be.
What my current goals, dreams, interests, skills, and values area.
I was able to start intentionally doing the work to Create and Live the life I want and need.
It is completely okay to have changed. And you know what. If you’re living you’re expected to evolve and grow!
I feel like I was just existing before I woke up and started discovering who I am and who I want to be/become.
We have one life to live. We get one chance. Let’s make the best of it!
No Dream is too BIG or CRAZY!
- Have you ever allowed yourself to just DREAM about who you want to be/become?
Or who you could be/become? If not, take some time and dream! - Would you have believed that everyone would have a mobile phone/mini computer today?
- Would you have believed that the largest communication medium would have more than 2.23 billion active users a month? Yes, Facebook!
- It’s said that Uber is the world’s largest taxi company, and it owns no vehicle!
- And Airbnb is the world’s largest accommodation company and it owns no real estate! See the article on Forbes.
- Technology and companies such as Amazon, Airbnb, Uber, and Facebook have changed our society.
- Changed the game. Changed the possibilities for us as mothers to have a career and be the mother we want to be.
- These were all ideas. Dreams. For most of us, these would have sounded insane 30 years ago.
I’m not saying we all need to be the next Facebook or Uber. I want you to believe in yourself and your dreams. Allow yourself to dream!
You may be one of the lucky ones, and you’re living your purpose, and the life you want.
And that’s amazing!
If not…
Ask Yourself These Questions &
Discover Who You Are & Who You Want to Be.
- What’s the most important thing in your life right now?
- What brings you joy?
- What do you enjoy doing?
- What are you good at doing? That thing that your friends and family ask you to do all the time!
- What’s that thing that excites you? And maybe scares you to pursue?
- What have you been dreaming of doing? One day when such and such is________…?
These are some of the questions I asked myself as I worked on discovering who I am and who I want to be/become.
I started dreaming of the life I wanted for myself and my family.
My family is the most important thing in my life. Right after my relationship with my savior.
How asking myself these questions helped me.
And can help you.
Reflecting on these questions helped me confirm that I wanted to stay in the same career field. Giving people my two cents to help them find their purpose for their careers and lives.
There’s an intangible joy I receive. When my words and guidance transforms someone in front of my very eyes.
Bringing Hope to someone who has no hope is indescribable.
Experiencing my client’s joy as they secure the career they have been working and dreaming to have.
Is simply priceless!
